Established in 2001 by Valentina Turcu and Gabriel Turcu, the “Turcu & Turcu” Law Firm specialises mainly in intellectual property law.
The courage to address this niche area of the law, at a time when it was at the beginning of its development in Romania and Eastern Europe, and the continuous theoretical and practical training led to the success and international recognition of “Turcu & Turcu”.
At this point, we can assert that our law firm is one of the top law firms in Romania, and one of the European regional leaders in intellectual property.
In 2001, as further evidence of our international recognition, our company has become a partner of the “REACT International Anti-counterfeiting Association”, whose members are major multinational companies in all fields. Through this partnership, we provide legal assistance and representation to REACT members in all matters related to the protection of intellectual property rights.
We are among the founding members of the Working Group on Intellectual Property Issues, a body set up in 2006 under the coordination of the Prosecutor’s Office next to the High Court of Cassation and Justice and established for the purpose of analysing and proposing solutions for the problems concerning intellectual property in Romania.
“Turcu & Turcu” regularly organises various conferences on key issues in this area as well as theoretical and practical training seminars on anti-counterfeiting for customs workers, police officers, judges and other government officials with responsibilities in protecting intellectual property rights.
In response to the requests of several clients, in 2007 we established a partner office in Bulgaria, under the coordination of our colleague, Aneta Stoykova Tadjer.
Also, in early 2011, an office was opened in the Republic of Moldova, under the coordination of Dorian Chirosca.
Both the office in Sofia and the one in Chisinau follow the principles of “Turcu & Turcu”: winning the clients’ trust through quality of service and full involvement in each project.
Besides the work performed in the offices in Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova, we can
provide our clients with professional assistance in this field in the Caspian and the Balkans region as well.
